This breather is an automated version of the hard and soft peg or spile. It's a very useful cask part for maintaining the quality of your cask conditioned beer.
Also called a race ventilator or auto vent, it can add days on to the life span of your ale thanks to the non-return valve (duck bill) which prevents too much air from entering the cask. When the beer is dispensed, the vacuum within the cask forces the valve to open.
Made from high-impact-resistant, food-grade material, this particular model can be used on either vertical dispense systems or in the traditional lay down method.
